Vladimir Jusupzanov — Aikido, Iaido and Kobudo teacher, 6th dan Aikido Aikikai, 6th dan Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Heiho, 6th dan (Kyoshi) Mugen Ryu Heiho. Studies under Sensei Yasunari Kitaura, Sensei Mutsuyoshi Ishigaki and Sensei Yuji Matsuoi.
Born on 4 May, 1957. During his school years he practiced Greco-Roman wrestling, sambo and judo. Later, starting with 1976, he started practicing karate.
At the end of 1980s his attention turned to aikido. As this martial art was little-known in Latvia at the time, it was necessary to train in seminars in other countries.
Sensei Yasunari Kitaura has been his direct aikido teacher since 1993.
In 2000, after visiting the dojo of Sensei Yuji Matsuoi, he started practicing iaido and kobujutsu.
As of 2001 he regularly practices aikido in Aikikai Hombu Dojo (Tokyo).
From 2005 till 2018 he participated in annual iai training sessions under the guidance of Sensei Mutsuyoshi Ishigaki in Sapporo (Hokkaido).
During his first trip to Japan he practiced iai in the dojo of Sensei Katsuo Yamaguchi (10 th dan Hanshi) and studied Taura Muso Ryu Kobujutsu in the dojo of Sensei Motomu Ikubo (16th Toryo)
Vladimir Jusupzanov is currently the president of the Latvian Iaido Federation and the vice-president of the Latvian Aikdio Federation, as well as the chief instructor of Mugen Ryu Heiho in Latvia.
